Description
The Monte Collection has travelled from the dry forests of northern Argentina, an area known simply as the Monte. Here, different groups of weavers use sheep’s wool to create monochrome and neutral rugs inspired by the dry, sunbaked forests and desert landscapes their ancestors have lived among for centuries. The use of bright colours is a reference to the flowers, insects and other lifeforms that roam the Monte, some of which are now just a memory.
Handwoven by skilled artisans, these Monte rugs have been sourced directly for a fair price from the communities where they were made. Many of the rugs in this collection use designs and colour-ways that are exclusive to Argentina and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. When you purchase a Monte rug, you’re helping Pampa trace the map that connects Argentina’s talented artisans with the global community.
Our rugs are woven in traditional ways typical to Latin American rugs, where the looms used are generally the width of the arm span of the weaver. Depending on the width of the weaver's loom, the rug may have one or more discreet unions where the panels of the rug are joined, which are a beautiful element of their handmade nature.
About Pampa Rugs
All Pampa rugs are woven using high-quality, fine, natural fibers, and every step of the process is done by hand, making each rug unique. We only carry a small amount of in-stock rugs, as most of our rugs are made-to-order. Our direct artisan partnerships mean that we can work closely with our weavers. We are proud to offer a model that is direct and simple.

Care & Instructions
Our rugs, woven from natural fibers, are made to withstand the test of time without the use of synthetic materials.
• Lightly vacuum your rug in the direction of the weave when necessary.
• Keep your rug out of prolonged direct sunlight to avoid fading. Rotate and flip your rug every 3-6 months to prevent uneven wear and fading.
• Always use a rug pad to keep your rug flat, prevent slippage, protect your floors and lessen the crushing of wool over time. (We provide complimentary rug pads for all Ready to Ship and Made to Order rugs.)
• Immediately soak up liquid spills with an absorbent white paper towel.
• Avoid harsh chemicals and household cleaners, opting for professional cleaning when necessary.
